Janetta Otter-Barry was Editorial Director at Frances Lincoln Children's Books from 1988 until 2009, where she played a key role in setting up and developing their children’s list, including classic titles such as Amazing Grace (1.5 million copies sold), Black Ships Before Troy (winner of the Kate Greenaway Medal) and We Are All Born Free with Amnesty International (sold in 32 languages worldwide). Frances Lincoln Children’s Books won the IPG Diversity Award in 2007 and was shortlisted again in 2015. From 2009 Janetta ran her own eponymous imprint under the Frances Lincoln umbrella, and during that time set up the Frances Lincoln Diverse Voices Award with Seven Stories, National Centre for Children's Books. This culminated in the announcement, in 2014, of the top 50 Titles Celebrating Cultural Diversity. In 2015 Janetta set up Otter-Barry Books as a fully independent publisher and the first list was published in May 2016. Otter-Barry Books is proud to celebrate diversity and inclusion through its publishing.
