1 What is your company called, and what services or products do you offer?

Publishers' Licensing Services. We were set up by the publishing industry in 1981 to serve its interests, and are governed by four publisher trade associations including the IPG. We represent the interests of publishers in collective licensing, providing a variety of rights management services, and offer a comprehensive range of online services to help publishers optimise efficiencies in permissions licensing.

2 What opportunities and challenges can you help IPG members with?

We would be delighted to help IPG members ensure they are making the most of collective licensing by signing up to PLS and joining many other IPG members who have done so. It is free to sign up. Last year we distributed £32.9m to publishers from collective licensing.
We have also launched a suite of online permissions services called PLS Permissions to help publishers manage, monitor and monetise their content.

3 What are you looking forward to at the Annual Spring Conference?

Networking with independent publishers we know well and getting to know those we have not yet met—by making full use of the Conference app! It’s a terrific programme.
