About the Job

James Clarke and its sister imprint, The Lutterworth Press, have been publishing academic non-fiction for over 200 years. Currently publishing between 10 and 20 new titles a month with a corresponding number of eBooks, it is a rapidly growing and ever developing business.Key responsibilities include:
Contacting retailers, academic institutions and relevant societies about new and forthcoming titles and writing press releases for the above
Maintaining relationships with retailers and distributors
Researching, selecting titles for, and attending academic conferences
Arranging book launches
Building relationships with authors
Maintaining company PR through our newsletter, blogs, Facebook and Twitter pages
Publication schedule management
Sharing accurate bibliographic information and updates
Securing reviews and promotional opportunities for forthcoming releases and coordinating the sending of review copies
A good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Adobe InDesign and Photoshop is preferred but not essential. This role would particularly suit those with an interest in sales, publishing or theology. Likewise, prior experience in a publishing or publicity role would be useful but anyone with an interest in publishing should send a CV and covering letter to:
