International Rights Assistant (18 month contract)

The opportunity
We are looking for an enthusiastic and organized International Rights Assistant to join our busy team within the European office of PUP on an 18 month contract.
The role is mainly UK based and may include travel to international book fairs.
The role
- Provide administrative and logistical support to the Rights team, and working closely with accounting, production, and editorial, as well as authors and agents
- Submit manuscripts, books, publicity, permissions, and sales figures to interested publishers, agents, and editors
- Research and help to prepare the International Rights Guide and appointments guides
- Prepare contracts for signature and send contracts to counter-party and update our records
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate records on rights sales databases
- Design flyers and engage with our social media activities
- Reports to the International Rights Director and works with the International Rights Executive
The candidate
You will be working within a highly successful team in a varied and busy role, so organization and commitment are essential. There is potential for training and development within the role and you will be part of the European office team.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills both in person and via media
- Must possess excellent organizational skills, the ability to prioritize, multitask and be able to implement improvements Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, Powerpoint), Adobe InDesign
- Familiarity with the rights and contracts modules of Biblio is desirable
- Fluency in one or more foreign languages is desirable but not essential to the role
- Bachelor’s degree plus relevant publishing or administrative experience
This role is based at Princeton’s European office which is in the charming town of Woodstock, just north of Oxford. The office is accessible by car, bus, and bicycle from Oxford, and the nearby rail station of Hanborough offers rail services.
