About the Job
We’re looking for a creative and conscientious digital book editor with a minimum of two years’ experience in an editorial role and a demonstrable understanding of digital and print publishing processes. You’ll be a driving force behind our expanding range of ebook editions.
This is primarily a production role in digital; but will include some work on print editions too. There are great opportunities for development – you’ll report directly to the Publisher and help us grow to scale.
We’re a small but expanding team, so you’ll need to be confident to work independently and ambitious to grow with the company as we move forward. We’re looking for people who make a habit of improving the way things are done, and who enjoy applying tech to creativity.
You’ll be based in our Richmond-upon-Thames office, although partial remote working will be considered. The role is part-time initially, envisaged as 3 days a week, with potential to become full-time later. A good, competitive salary is on offer to match your level of experience.
Prelude Books is a new publisher of ebook-led fiction and print-led nonfiction. Our Farrago imprint is dedicated to series-based humorous fiction, while Prelude publishes smart thinking in psychology, pop science, history and memoir. We also represent The School of Life Press to the book trade.
