Editorial Assistant /Assistant Editor

Are you interested in academic publishing and the development of digital collections for researchers and students?
Can you juggle multiple tasks and work efficiently to get the job done?
Can you help us find the best possible authors for our collections?

The role:

Supporting and assisting the team that works on SAGE’s flagship digital research methods products;
Researching, collating and communicating names of potential authors for our online content
Communicating with authors and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time;
Maintaining accurate information on trackers, databases and spreadsheets;
Assisting on a number of projects concurrently, managing tight deadlines and competing priorities;
Conducting desk research projects;
Administering expense and payment processes;
Arranging meetings and travel for the Publisher and Commissioning Editor.

The candidate:

A well-organised, proactive individual, who constantly looks for the best ways to get the job done;
Interested in working in academic publishing;
A confident communicator both in person and via email;
Proficient at using standard IT packages (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook) and confident to learn several internal IT systems;
A graduate in any subject; or able to demonstrate relevant experience.
A good understanding of social science research methods would be an advantage but is not essential.
