About the Job
Ingram Publisher Services International are looking for a highly motivated European Sales Manager to join our sales team, based in St Paul's, Central London.
London Based - European Travel is essential (Home working considered)
Reporting into the Sales & Marketing Director, you will be selling our client publishers, across all of our distribution brands (Perseus Distribution; PGW; Consortium; Ingram Publisher Services) into the European markets and will be responsible for sales into our key European accounts as well as some specialist European customers.
You should have experience of European international sales; a clear understanding of the main European accounts; have excellent customer relationships and the analytical skills to be able to deliver profitable sales.
Essential Job Duties:
Manage and increase revenue from European customers to achieve budgeted sales targets
Work closely with Sales Director; European rep force and US Sales and Marketing teams to deliver our sales strategy into the European markets
Develop strategic plans to increase visibility and expand reach of both front list and back list titles with account base
Form strong relationships at all pertinent levels of the account base and serve as liaison between the accounts and the organisation
Travel at least twice a year, to meet with assigned accounts to present new titles and publishers, discuss sales, marketing opportunities, and problems or other issues
Manage timely processing of orders from customers, maintain a relationship with the customer services team at warehouse
Regularly analyse sales data, produce sales reports, and create strategies to grow sales and presence in the market
Provide sales projections for key titles and publishers each season
Assist the Sales & Marketing Director and Operations Director in the selection of titles and inventory quantities for the European pub program and provide input from customers, sales analyses, and industry trends
Prepare a monthly report to interpret account activity to management outlining sales/returns trends, top titles and publishers, relationship and service issues, account activities, competitive threats and general market concerns
Form excellent relationship with International Client Relations Manager in New York and communicate feedback from accounts on the positioning of forthcoming titles and publishers
Communicate coop and marketing opportunities effectively to International Marketing Manager in New York to obtain publisher’s permission prior to making commitments
Attend sales conferences, predominately in the US, and trade fairs in Europe
Qualifications (Typical Experience, Typical Education, Knowledge/Skills/Abilities):
A minimum of 3 years international sales experience
Education: College / University degree
Proven sales experience in publishing or the book trade
Good understanding of the European book market
A target driven and commercial approach
Excellent analytical and numerical skills and knowledge of sales reporting systems
Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
Requires sales focused and customer centric approach
Personal computing skills to include MS office (Excel, Word,
Must possess the ability to operate successfully within a fast paced environment.
