Pavilion Books is an award-winning, mid-sized independent publisher of high quality illustrated books. Based in our offices in central London, we are offering an exciting opportunity for an organised and industrious person who would like to pursue a career in publishing.
We are currently recruiting for a Sales Office Assistant to work in our busy sales department, gaining experience in a fast-paced, warm and welcoming environment. This is an ideal opportunity for those looking to start a career in publishing, and the successful candidate will fulfil an essential role in the day-to-day operations of a thriving, ever-growing independent publisher.
Your key responsibilities will be:
∙ Providing sales materials and information on a regular basis to our sales teams in the UK and overseas
∙ Preparing sales kits and information for our senior in-house sales executives
∙ Providing admin support for the in-house sales team (across Trade, Special, Contract and Export)
∙ Processing of orders and monitoring their progress to fulfilment
∙ Circulation of daily, weekly and monthly sales figures and reports
∙ Preparation for book fairs and sales conferences
∙ Answering email and telephone enquiries on a daily basis
∙ Liaising with our distribution centre on behalf of the sales team
∙ Assisting with book launches and events where necessary
∙ Outstanding organisational and communication skills
∙ Excellent command of written and spoken English
∙ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
∙ Ability to work under pressure
∙ Ability to effectively prioritise and multitask
∙ Previous experience working in publishing, and/or in sales is desirable, but not essential
