The role also involves a good deal of design work, including retouching images, correcting layouts and artworking some covers.
You will work closely with our in-house Editorial, Sales and Marketing departments, and with external suppliers (onshore and offshore) to ensure that all projects are produced on schedule, to high quality standards and within controlled budgets.
Skills, knowledge, experience
•a detailed knowledge of the production life cycle for books
•proven print buying experience (mono and colour)
•a keen eye for detail (copy-editing and proof-reading skills are desirable) and a good head for numbers
•excellent organizational and time-management skills
•problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude
•IT skills (knowledge of Office and proven expertise using Adobe products – inDesign and Photoshop in particular – are essential; familiarity with Virtusales’ Biblio3 is desirable)
•knowledge of XML-first workflows
•knowledge of the manufacturing process for games (desirable but not essential)
This is a permanent, full-time position based at our Oxford office: Osprey Games and Osprey Publishing are part of Bloomsbury Publishing Plc.
