We are looking for a passionate book lover to join our fast-paced and dynamic team who have recently relocated to the Brighton area. Here you will work on national brands in addition to home-grown lists comprising non-fiction arts, history/cultural history and gift crossover.
Reporting to the Sales and Marketing Director, the successful candidate will have the ability to develop a deep understanding of the market and the issues that affect and influence customers and to help conceive and deliver exceptional marketing and publicity campaigns.
The position would suit someone with expertise gained through working in the industry and bring with them relationships with journalists and bloggers. A demonstrable interest in high quality marketing, communication and fresh ideas is essential as is a good understanding of social media campaigns and methods.
You will be responsible for all areas of marketing and publicity from devising title specific plans, seasonal promotions, writing press releases, organising events such as book launches and social media.
A prowess for multi-tasking and innovative thinking is a must as is exemplary organisational skills and an eye for detail.
Although not essential, experience with Photoshop, InDesign and/or Premiere Pro would be an asset in the role, which involves helping the team brainstorm and deliver digital media across Twitter, Facebook and our email newsletters.

∙ Oversee all publicity and marketing campaigns
∙ Oversee the management and development of the website and social media channels
∙ Create innovative and fully integrated publicity campaigns for non-fiction imprints
∙ Cultivate strong relationships across all media
∙ Negotiate with print and broadcast media on reviews, features and interviews
∙ Work with rights and editorial colleagues to secure high profile serialisation deals
∙ Provide outstanding care to authors and agents and accompany them to events and media appearances
∙ Arrange author interviews, tours, signings and festival appearances
∙ Liaise with international sales and marketing partners to ensure titles are promoted globally wherever possible
∙ Oversee company profile in the media
∙ Assist in developing sales materials and presentations to support wider team
∙ Stay informed of all new marketing and publicity developments and opportunities
Experience / skills required:
∙ Publicity experience in non-fiction trade publishing
∙ A proven track record in managing all aspects of high profile campaigns
∙ Experience pitching and securing coverage in mainstream print and broadcast media
∙ Experience working closely with authors and agents Familiarity with social media and other digital platforms
