Job Vacancy: Marketing Assistant/Marketing Executive (Full Time)

Bright Red Publishing is a multi-award winning independent publisher, producing the best possible material for the Scottish secondary school market. With a small team of seven, we publish the broadest range of Study Guides in Scotland along with our unique BrightRED Digital Zone. We strive to be innovative, both in the material we produce and the way we reach our audiences.
We are seeking a talented and independent Marketing Assistant or Marketing Executive who will fit in with a close-knit team and provide all round marketing services to our varied school, trade and consumer markets. Ideally, the candidate will start by end October 2017.
Depending on experience, the Marketing professional’s responsibilities will include:
∙ Delivering a broad range of marketing and sales activities to schools, bookshops and consumers using a wide variety of channels.
∙ Creating/maintaining annual marketing plan to fit academic year and publication schedule.
∙ Utilising social media marketing to a high level.
∙ Writing engaging content for print and online.
∙ Organising logistics at targeted events and parents’ nights throughout the year.
∙ Working closely with publishing teams on publication schedules, sample page creation and advanced orders building for new titles.
∙ Assisting the team with shared responsibility of replying to customer queries and general office tasks.
•Marketing experience within creative industries across variety of channels.
•Up-to-date social media experience across Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube, including content creation.
•Proven background in writing content for print and online channels and different audiences.
•Ability to use content management systems and e-mail building platforms.
•Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
•Pro-active, collaborative and flexible approach.
•Good time management and confidence to work independently.
•Strong attention to detail and methodical approach to work.
•Experience of working in a publishing house, or other creative industry.
•Knowledge of Scottish Education system/interest in educational publishing.
•Full driving license (and access to car if possible).

∙ Publishing or Marketing qualification highly desirable.
